ArcWeb Terms & Conditions of Use
================================
by Stewart Brodie
Legal Declaration
=================
In the legal declaration below, "This Product" is defined to be all the
files within the original archive (ie. not just !ArcWeb, it includes any
support applications bundled with it), excluding those provided by other
contributing authors.
"the author" is Stewart Brodie (S.N.Brodie@ecs.southampton.ac.uk)
"contributing authors" refers to the authors of any other software
which is included in the archive.
Copyright of the product remains with the author. Copyright of anything else
in the archive remains with the contributing authors. The Terms regarding
this product given in this file may be taken to also apply to the software of
the contributing authors, except where an alternative set of Terms for that
software is supplied, in which case the contributing author's Terms augment
those in this file. In case of conflict, the contributing authors' terms
prevail. The contributing authors' terms may be found in files called
<initials>_Terms where initials are the contributing author's initials.
In particular, DrawFile, Toolbox, Window, ColourDbox, IconBar, ProgInfo,
Menu, SaveAs, !System, !SysMerge and !Scrap are copyright of Acorn Computers
Ltd.
This software is based in part on the work of the Independent JPEG Group.
This software contains code derived from the RSA Data Security, Inc.
MD5 Message-Digest Algorithm.
This version of this product is 'freeware'. My definition of 'freeware':
This means that the author retains copyright over the product, and the
contributing authors retain copyright over their portions, but allow
unlimited distribution except:
i) No charge must be made (except for a nominal fee for distribution media)
ii) This Product must be distributed as a complete package
iii) This Product may not be distributed as part of a non-free
[free as in (i)] package (of any kind, magazine/hardware/software)
without prior written consent from the author and from the contributing
authors.
iv) During further redistribution, it must be made clear to the recipient
of any extra files or directories that the redistributor has added.
It must also be made clear that these fetching tools are not part of
the original distribution.
v) If any further distribution occurs compliant with all of the above,
credit must be clearly given to the author and the contributing authors.
vi) Redistribution must not infringe any of the contributing authors terms
and conditions.
This version may be freely uploaded to FTP sites, provided all the above
conditions are met, and all the conditions in the section below regarding
FTP uploads are met.
No liability whatsoever is accepted by the author, or the contributing
authors, of this product for losses or damage of any kind at all arising, or
allegedly arising, from the use, or misuse, of This Product. You are hereby
warned that any costs incurred through the use of this package over a
non-free networking medium are the sole responsibility of the user.
The author, and the contributing authors, do not guarantee the functionality
of the package, and do not guarantee to fix any reported bugs, although the
author, and the contributing authors, may investigate bug reports and may
release new versions.
You may not disassemble or reverse engineer this product in any way.
Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is a registered trademark of, and a service
mark of, CompuServe Inc. This product does NOT include any code for the
creation of GIF format files. In particular, this product does not contain
any version of LZ compression code as claimed under patent by Unisys. This
program is not subject to restrictions imposed on GIF and LZW related
products as declared by Unisys on 28 December 1994, or any future
declarations of patent ownership on said GIF or LZ technologies. The
"gif2spr" utility includes LZ decompression code too and is subject to the
term & conditions in the contributing authors terms & conditions.
All other trademarks acknowledged

FTP Uploads
===========
The primary FTP site is now ftp.dsse.ecs.soton.ac.uk in /pub/Acorn/ArcWeb
Uploading to other FTP sites is unrestricted, unless that site mirrors the
primary FTP site nominated in the previous paragraph, in which case uploading
should not occur. (Let the mirroring software do its job!)
The latest version is usually available via HTTP at:
http://www.dsse.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~snb94r/arcweb/arcweb.html
